Khuntan Outstation

When:- 21st-23rd October
Where:- Khuntan
Travel South on the Super Highway, past Lamphun. Continue for 23.5km after the BigC Flyover in Lamphun, and follow hash signs left into Khuntan Valley. The resort is a further 10km into the valley.
Accommodation:- Gassan Khuntan Golf Resort – Rooms (for us) are 1,000B per night, as well as the on site golf course, with club house, spa and restaurant, there is also a pool.

Attractions:- The Khuntan National Park overlooks the Khuntan valley which runs through the mountains between Lamphun and Lampang. The mountains are a natural border that once was a barrier between the Lanna Kingdom and Siam. The highest peak is nearly 400m higher than Doi Suthep, and one of Thailand’s highest peaks – the views from the top are spectacular, trust me, I know! Aside from the mountains, the railway is a significant feature of the valley, notably Thailand’s longest train tunnel (1.4km long) that runs under the mountains, built in 1907 with the help of German Engineers.

What:-
Friday night will be the traditional wine and cheese night (BYO), chilling out at the resort, enjoying the views of the mountains.
Saturday is the main hash – The trail will be an A->B around 10km on virgin hashing trails, including of course a beerstop where you are welcome of course to stop running and drink beer with the hares instead or get information about a short cut. Followed of course by a circle, before heading back to the resort to clean up for dinner – a subsidised buffet.
Sunday – morning hangover run.
